My Mommy's Apple Pie!

I hear the alarm go off, screeching through my dream;
I know it's time to wake up; sun rays begin to gleam;
But I love my cozy pillow; I love this morning theme;
I can't go on, but wake up, I can hear my mommy scream,

'It's time to go to school' she says, 'You don't want to be late'.
'The bus will be here soon and you know it's not going to wait',
'You will be kept outside, if you're not there before eight',
'So get ready and pack your bag, don't forget your slate! '

Brushing, bathing, uniform done.
Books, bags, oh what fun!
Shoes shining in the morning sun,
The bus honks, shucks! I've got to run.

How I'll miss my mommy now, as I watch her wave goodbye;
How I'll miss all that love, as I watch my house go by;
Its fine as I'll be back, before the sun rays die;
And I'll have my favorite snack, my mommy's Apple pie!

Fear of tests, unfinished homework, thousands more like me;
School is kinda creepy, but it is the place to be.
Tall, short, fair, dark, so many friends I see,
Off goes the bell, no more are we free!

Four ones are four, five ones are five,
I stare at the clock, but time won't fly.
Its fine as I'll be back, before the sun rays die,
And I'll have my favorite snack, my mommy's Apple pie!

But something stops my thoughts, sharp sounds afar;
Continuous and loud, I don't know what they are.
I hear screams and cries, everything so bizarre!
It won't cease, but grows nearer, I still don't know for sure.

As I keep guessing, my teacher shuts the door.
'Get under the bench' he says, 'quick! Get on the floor'.
Such dreadful eyes; a worried look he wore,
So we make no noise, I can hear my heartbeat soar.

A sudden bang I hear, my heart skips a beat;
All I could see were, four boot clad feet;
'Who wants to go home? ' they ask, sounding kinda sweet,
We all want to go, we all want that treat.

One by one they pick, seven others and me;
My tummy feels sick, how long before I'm free?
They say, ' stand against the black board, before I count to three! '
What choice do we have? Black is all I can see.

The sharp sounds return, then a scream followed by a thud;
Too scared to turn, thoughts begin to flood.
What can it be? Something is falling to mud;
But once more it strikes, sending shudders through my blood.

I hear a deep voice say, ' watch your loved ones die! '
I want no part in this play, so I'll never open my eyes.
Its fine as I'll be back, before the sun rays die;
And I'll have my favorite snack, my mommy's Apple pie.
