The Best Of Me

And ever since you left, my mind has been a mess,
my life has been a mess and my heart couldn't be worse.
But the saddest part of it all, is that I have lost my inspiration too.
you were the one all my poems were about,
the one all my songs were related to.

You were the smile on my face
every time I look up at the sky
to see the shining stars.
And you were also the sparkle on my eyes,
you were the light of my darkest nights,
and the comfort for my sad and long nights.

You were the warmth for my cold body,
and the perfect balance for my mixed up soul.
I guess thats what happens when
you lose someone you loved more than
you will ever love anything or anyone.

And I guess I loved you enough to understand
that you had to leave me so you could find
someone who can be the best for you.
Im sorry I wasn't good enough for you,
I just want you to know that
I loved you
with the best of me.
