Rounded in a noose
Hard lump I swallow

Look at them lay
Just for a day
Wrapped up in wool
Innocents so peaceful.

Once I floated high, free
Full of self
Drifting contently
Carefree life

Dark clouds roll by
Turning Summer into Winter
Rain lashes down
The sky as black as sinter.

In the quiet, still morning
Of calm waters and painted skies
A tall story waits to be told.
