Robert Fagan Poems

Last night I dreamed the rainbow dream
But there was no arc
It was as if I could see the colors in the air
And the air was like a whirlwind
...

Songs of grace, a sullen face
lies in tired hands
Holding on to memories
buried in the land.
...

Sun shines down thru newly formed leaves, so does my mind wonder.
Back and forth the blowing of the breeze, so does my mind wonder.
Rising up with the ever radiant heat, so does my mind wonder.
Higher than the top boughs of the trees, so does my mind wonder.

Rainbow Dream

Last night I dreamed the rainbow dream
But there was no arc
It was as if I could see the colors in the air
And the air was like a whirlwind
Like a storm of color, as I looked out a window
And the door I opened to the outside
To actually touch the color
Hold it in my hand
The very air itself
Then I woke.

One night I dreamed the rainbow dream
But there was no arc
Red and blue, yellow and green, all the colors
Enmeshed yet seperate, clear and opaque
Endless streams of color
Coming from nowhere and returning there
I saw, with my eyes
I felt, with my hand I grasped
Then I woke.

I wish to dream the rainbow dream.
