Learning

I'm learning to accept what other people say
I never gave a damn
Because I knew it all
Even if I didn't, I could fool myself
I was a master at it
Bullshitting isn't really lying is it?

I'm learning to be grateful for other peoples kind acts towards me
No longer pushing them away
No longer being disrespectful
Accepting acts of kindness
Being humble
Returning the same

I'm learning to stop being angry and resentful
They were my worst enemies
Most times not even realizing I was doing it
Being rational, understanding situations
I ask the same of you

I'm learning how to feel
It was always easy to self medicate
Mask any hurt or joy
Hurt and pain will be here always
Need to feel it and cope with it

I'm learning how to care about myself
My mind, my body, my spirit
They've had enough abuse already
Time to give them a rest
Make them better

I'm learning to love GOD again
For saving me
