The music was winey and really quite aimless

I walked alone without a dog

The only thing - he wasn't there
He matched his hair with orange shoes

They have no eyes
So what's the point
You may surmise

That birds such as parrots
Began life as turtles

They lived on soup and cantaloupe
Although their play was often raucous
The peas round features made them cautious

The Best Poem Of Richard Lee

The Guaca-Mole

However hard he tries
Despite his fondest wishes
The Guaca-mole - a quiet soul
Cannot get on with fishes

Whatever he may say
And if he tried today
The fishes always get their way
They all think they're delicious

The fishes groom and preen
But not the quiet mole
Quite happy being all alone
He dines on wine and warm swiss-roll

While moles are making calm
The fishes are quite vicious
They won't help out, they scream and shout
‘We won't wash dirty dishes'

So Guaca-moles are rarely seen
In fact it's true to say
I've not seen one - but for a glance
A fortune I would pay

While fishes you may find
On every high street corner
Up every tree - in libraries
In every gym and sauna

The mole cannot be found
Resides below the ground
Disguised on trips as savory dips
He never makes a sound

The fishes think they have their way
While making merriment and hay
But vicious fishes are quite wrong
As Guaca-moles will have their day

Moles have their plans and don't forget
However vicious fishes swish
All fishes will one day be caught
While Guaca-moles slip through the net

The Guaca-mole, it's true you see
Is not so much an being
But more a thought of pure delight
Another way of seeing
