Reginald Matsepe Poems

This is a walk of Faith
This is a story of man
Who never had a chance to be a boy
The world treated him like a toy
...

One cold day back in the days
I heard grandma talk to my mama
Well I listened
To the teachigs of a victim
...

I lived through many stories
But this time
I'm living through a beautiful story
Imagine a star that shines
...

Under The Dark

This is a walk of Faith
This is a story of man
Who never had a chance to be a boy
The world treated him like a toy
He Inherited a fighter' s gene
So He never asked God why
His father spend his life time fighting For ends to meet
He died with a heart like a lion
The mother is a queen
But the standards
Of poverty and
Lack of moral structure
Can cripple even
the strongest woman
She stood
She remains fighting for a better day

he is left alone
To figure out
How to fight  through the pain
The road is not easy
When you can't find a way home
He is left to find
A world outside
The one he was taught
For This one didn't work
For the head of the house
Neither did it work for the body

The burden is too much
by blood he is a fighter
And by Faith he has hope
Confused he remains
For The life he lives
Was never purpose driven
The light does not shine
Neither is the night dark
He wonders by the shadows of the night
Evil shines through his eyes
Destruction falls by the tip
Of his tongue

This is what happens
When a man has never been a boy
This is what happens
When life treats you like a toy
When you never
Got to learn how to say thank you
When you had to see
Tears of pain while you still in diapers
When you couldn't relate to dad
When you couldn't see if momy
Was happy or sad
When you never learned good or bad

The life you learn as you grow
Is the life you know
If there is no foundation
You grow bitter and cold
Only a few survives
Some dive deeper
In the lake of the world's wonders
A dance with the devil
A dance that may last you
A life time

Life doesn't smile at him
In the eyes of this world
Light doesn't shine on him
In his eye
The hand that reaches
down to lift him up
Becomes the enemy

His conscious whispers
Where you never been taught
Never to bite the hand that feed you
Why dou You defy
the road that leads you Home
where your siblings need you

With a weak mind
You will think
Family is nothing to fight for
With a strong heart
You know family is everything
It is something you die for
But in his eyes
Money  is happiness
It' s something he will die for
This is something that happens
When a man
never had a chance to be a boy
When life treats you like a toy.
