refilwe ranape Poems

I’m a creature, a bird, a lioness alike;
My being a mystery; a mountain, the ocean still be;
And the earth, oh! The earth so full of profusion;
My soul, my spirit; my body, up in the sky thee yearn to be;
...

What a feeling, what a great feeling;
To give and get in return, a priceless, timeless a thing;
In abundance I do have, I do give!
I did receive, I still do, but how do I know if it’s unstipulated;
...

Let me be Patient, Let me be Kind, Make me unselfish without being Blind. Though I may suffer, I will endure what comes. I look at my Environment and wonder where the Fire went, what happened to everything we used to be....Silence...for The Violin has stopped playing.......Like the Violin Strings, Souls Blend, Complimentarily. If one string breaks, u can't continue to play, the Violin stops Playing....either you get it fixed...or buy a new one...for it has stopped Playing

The Melody though, lingers, in my head it keeps playing;
In my heart, the sweet serenade is felt;
...

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes-
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
...

From miles away, a thousand miles apart the habitat, surroundings differ;
Yet we find common in our spaces, in the air; it's in the air we breathe that we bind, that we discover our sustenance and the miles become meaningless, patience timeless;

The pain of yearning, of longing to be with you numbing my soul, my body; again it is this pain that keeps me strong, keeps me going;
...

Only for a Moment;
Just a Moment, but a Moment;
One Moment in time;
I felt something unreal……Flash;
...

Conventional, that’s how my being has been;
Abuzz in the township, another girl next door;
Envious childhood maybe, distinctive inner part though;
Mind and heart fed with goodness!
...

Little Rascal, my rascal, yes you are mine;
Strange though, the word to describe you, my endearment;
How I wish I could change the world for you!
How I wish to make it a better place, for all of you!
...

I saw her, She saw me, We noticed each other;
I looked her in the eyes, She looked away, She looked me in the eyes, I looked away; I wondered.....
I walked into her, She looked down, I staired away, She looked at me;
What's on her mind, i wondered......That Girl;
...

Sassy, Sophisticated, Cosmopolite, these are but the words to package her;
Rooted, Urban, Feminine and yet Masculine at heart, for She is as strong as they come;
And when she walks, she walks like she’s got diamonds underneath her Shoes;
As if she doesn’t want to stamp on the eggs, reminds me of a panther;
...

Does she, doesn’t she, know herself, her needs, her desires, her wants?
Her true self exposed, peace within reigns;
Contentment still far from reach; the tone in her voice says;
Her world is occupied by another entity, may be not?

I have my own offspring,8 yrs old son, gives me the reason to wake up every morn! My blood a mixture of Xhosa, Zulu, Pedi, makes me a true south african, no manga, manga business! I love myself, may be too much, but it makes it easier to love the next person. You need to love yourself first, before you can give love and receive love in return. C'mon, how do you expect someone to love you, if you do not love yourself? ? ?)

Who....

I’m a creature, a bird, a lioness alike;
My being a mystery; a mountain, the ocean still be;
And the earth, oh! The earth so full of profusion;
My soul, my spirit; my body, up in the sky thee yearn to be;
But feathers, I have not;

My people, the nations, my brothers, in me you bestowed a giant;
The rock you place on my head, fever on my brows won’t go away;
An elephant you’ve crowned me; I say it is the strength in my bones
That I carry the load often too heavy to bear;
Crown me a queen! Crown me a queen! I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt,
I am a lover, a companion, a friend, a colleague, a worker,
I am cleaner, a sweeper, a cook, I am a care giver, I’m feeble, I am who I am;
A creature, But feathers, I have not.
