At Sringeri Sankara knew,
His mother’s days were few.
To fulfill his promise to her,
He came running to see her.

Kumarilabhattar, a Pundit,
And a scholar of great repute,
Was lying in his death bed.
To see him, Sankara hurried.

To Southern temples next,
And the famous pilgrim center
At Tanjore-Tiruvidaimaruthur,

After Tirupati, Sankara moved,
And twelve places, he visited,
Where Jyotilingams kept a guard
O’er the country’s every ward.

After his trip to Badrinath,
Sankara went to Kedarnath.
By the power of his yoga,
He visited then Kailasa

Sankara saw the Town Kanchi,
Blessed by Goddess Kamakshi,
That would prosper further
When changed in Srichakra order.
