I Wish They Knew

I climb miles up to the top
But I still hear their voices
I turn my head not
I push myself up
But my feet hanging still
I scream my lungs out
Thrusting myself up to the top
Aiming for the clouds
With their hands grasping me
I fight the gravity
I left everything
I believe in myself
And now I am
Standing on the edge of glory.

I am at the peak
Looking at the sea of humans
Frustrated, furious, infuriated
Maddened by the sight of me standing up here
Leaving them in the sea of hatred
Swimming in the red sea of anger
Shoving through the bustling crowd
Daydreaming of hitting the crest
When death is nearing them.
Because never stops chasing, the pitch-dark hole
A hole they created in their soul.

The society never knew
The norm they indulge
Is causing them pain
Cutting them deep down the bones
Burning their soul into smokey ashes and skin into crusty crisps
Destructing every inch of their mind and body
When will they realize?
When will they stop?
Don't they see it is eating them up?
The norm of hating
The norm of oppressing
The norm of persecuting
All in the chase of power.

I wish they knew
That their soul is trapped
It was sweet and pure
Summoned only justice and mercy.

But now it is bleak and dying
Darkened by the power they are after
Blackened by the wealth offered
It was lively and bubbly
Now only dull and dim
Sometimes coloured with red
But red of fire
The blazing fire that kills lives of many
The once pure soul
Now massacres its own owners.

I wish they knew
That the hope to live a thousand years
Is not in how much money they make
Or how powerful they'll be
The ugly truth they have to brace
Is that cash can't buy them lives
And power can't buy them happiness
Because in the end of the day
Humanity is all that it takes
For the world to live again.
And here I am
Standing on the edge of glory
Gaining the bliss I thirst for in a million years
Thanking God for granting me strength
To fight the nasty norms.

I wish they knew
Hatred is like fire
That engulfs them bits by bits
Until one day they die
And they learn nothing, only regret.
