Prince Kanokanga Poems

In different homes
Little boys and girls
Lay deep in sleep
Carrying in them the power of our morrow

A chain of reaction
Setting cause of similar events
"Misfortunes never come singly"
The Domino Effect.

Reconnoitre the land
It's the best destination
Sovereign
House of stone

Remembering that darling bite
First cut was the most intimate
A single wound errands into an indication
Completely unsuspecting
...

You are so charitable with your body
It alarms and concerns me
You are so extravagant with death
Being chaste is a virtue

A model of grace
An international icon
A peace envoy
A queen of the garden

We share a culture
A language
So why not stand up
And fight

Dear Rose
You are a friend
Never with pessimism
You are sunny

Uncounted people
Unfamiliar populace
Nameless according to database
Street dwelling

Jane hold my hand
John quit staring
Familiar words

Day Of The African Child

In different homes
Little boys and girls
Lay deep in sleep
Carrying in them the power of our morrow

How we love to beat them
Pencil their backsides
Teary eyes
Loud cries
Quick lash ourpenciled stick

Terrorized and victimized
Little enemies
Dishonorable ethnic hostility
We carry out.

Inhumanely treated by teachers and friends
Beaten and bruised
Improperly and excessively used as labour kids
Torture to no end.

Asleep in different homes
In their little villages and hidden routes
The little voices
Cry aloud and water the earth.

Torture to no end
Question the Dark Continent
Not the color of our skin but our hearts.

This is our day
We are all the little children
Grown as we may be
We have it within our hearts
To stop the pain
Heal the lame
And stop those little tears of rain.

Let's teach our children
How to write and sing
Not to work the labour fields
Let's teach our children
How to pen and not scream

This the Day of the African Child
We the natives and inhabitants
Let's pride in our future
The little children.
They carry the future
And answers on their little bended knees.
