The Road Not Taken - Poem by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

    As I read through the poem The Road Not Taken, I could only reflect on some choices not made either because I listened to so many voice or I just heard my mind tell me on the inside I couldn't toll that path. Many times I ignored the road not less travelled, no significant difference few years down, but now little difference has the road much travelled made. I so wish I had taken the road less travelled, who knows like Robert Frost it could have all the difference. (Report) Reply

    One of the best assignments I ever completed in college was to write my auto-biography. Reflecting on it I realized the many choices I had made, some seemed good and some seemed bad, but were they? No one knows the impact momentary, seemingly insignificant, choices we make can completely change our lives. That's when I understood Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken. (Report) Reply
