We Howl When Born Because - Poem by Linda Hepner

We howl when born
because we've been torn
but if there's no Maker,
yet Death is the Taker,
'Beginning and End'
is what we understand,
though wish it was round
and round and then round
a circular system
where lives haven't missed 'em,
since what goes then comes
like comforting mums
though deep down I know
life isn't like snow
which comes back as water
like mother like daughter,
but we are the boat
that carries afloat
the long-living gene
of louse, plants or queen.
Just eat, laugh, be merry,
Like me: I am, very.

This strikes me very deeply - most of your poetry does. I think you are probably awesome... (Report) Reply
