    Her Hair Is Blond

    Her hair is blond
    Her eyes are blue
    The makeup she uses
    Is always the perfect hue

    Her legs are long
    Her stomach is flat
    Her arms are firm
    Her thighs have a gap

    Her breasts are big
    Her butt is too
    She's every boys dream
    They stand in a cue

    My hair is brown
    And so are my eyes
    My chubby stomach
    Is hard to disguise

    My legs may be long
But my thighs have no gap
    In my cue
    There's not a single chap

    I watch tv
    And the internet isn't better
    All you will see
Are skinny girls in tight sweaters

    Why is she pretty
    Why am I not
    Is skinny always better
    Can't I be hot?

    Society today has decided
    Your stomach should be flat
    Your waist should be small
    Your skin should be mat

    No pimples on your face
    No hair on your legs
    Skin that is tan
    Teeth white as eggs

    People tell you you're beautiful
    Beautiful in your own way
    But they still tell you
    To run all day

    I don't want to live
    In a world so obsessive
    Obsessive about weight
    Some are even aggressive

    We'll raise our kids
    To think they look bad
    Unless their skin is perfect
    And this makes me mad

    What happened to personality
    What happened to skill
    Can you only be beautiful
If you eat only a pill?

    We're obsessed with fitness
    Obsessed with clothes
    We compare ourselves to pictures
    That a professional chose

    Our ideal body
    Can only be obtained
    Through starvation and exercise
    Letting your fat be drained

    My hair is brown
    And so are my eyes
    My chubby stomach
    Is hard to disguise

But why am I not beautiful
    Why am I not pretty
    Because I'm not thin
    Because I'm itty bitty

When people take their own life
    Rip themselves apart
    Because of a picture
    That hurts my heart

Don't compare yourself to a model
    Don't become a stick
    Seeing people like that
    Simply makes me sick

    Your hair can be blond
    Your hair can be brown
    Your eyes can be blue
    Just please don't frown

    Short or tall
    Skinny or fat
    We all have a right
To get the love that we lack read more »

With a Flower in Her Hair

She asked how she looked with the flower in her hair.
Shocked by her beauty, the words did elude me.
But later, thinking back, the memory decreed words.
A pretty woman with a flower in her hair read more »

    Aging Gracefully

You asked if I'd still love you if you lost all of your hair
Your baldness seems a tragedy: you want more fullness there.
It's strange the way we always wish for what we seem to lack
And anything that goes away is what we'd welcome back. read more »
