Zwischen den Kartons

Zwischen allen meinen Kartons -
liegt begraben -
die Antwort, die ich dir wollte sagen -
die ich träumte in meinem Schlaf -
die mich fand, ohne Schlaf -
der ich meine Lieder sang -
geduldig, voll mit Klang -
nur für Dich ganz allein -
Antwort, die ich fand -
zwischen Kartons, schlafend -
kam zu nichts -
aber dann wacht ich auf -
und es kam mir, wie ein Blitz -
alles, was ich träumte, letzte Nacht -
hat mir nun, mehr als Antworten gebracht -
auf die Fragen, deren Lied -
du mußt warten,
denn Geduld ist, was du brauchst -
dann find ich mich wieder -
und sing dir die Lieder, die du brauchst.

Poem of the Day

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
