Youth Poem by Melmar Mercado

Youth

Youths, who holds out our future.
Let them go and be mature,
To solve the problem alone,
As well as strenght to atone

Those who loved our mother tongue,
Let us teach them while they are young,
So that our love will be remain,
Inside their heart and in their brain.

Cheer them out, as loud as we can,
Let each of their journey began,
Guide them in achieving their goal,
Help 'em out to fulfill their role.

They will be the Philippines pride
That no one may ever defied,
Youngling's of our mother homeland
Stand tall, create your dreamland.

For the country we care so much,
That we kept them always in touch,
Even though we have passed away,
Our culture will always stay.

We've gone too far and fight too long,
Beliefs, culture survives along.
As we grow older and older,
Our fond for, became stronger.

Must not forget those people fought,
Whatever they did must be taught,
Whoever they are should be known,
Ought be recognized as we grown.

For our land's freedom was given,
We owe all from that striven,
Don't let each of their constant pain,
Be put onto the endless vain.

Now is the time to pay them back,
Let us cherish what they are lack,
The independendence we wait for,
That is what we have not before.

Let no one to cease us again,
And take what we already gain,
Thus, let us do our very best,
So that we will not be oppressed.
