‘your Word’s, My World, O Lord! ’ Poem by Dr John Celes

‘your Word’s, My World, O Lord! ’

‘The time, I spent to read your Word,
And live accordingly, dear Lord –
Was just a fraction of life-time,
With worth in gold, although a dime! ’

‘The more I read the Word again,
The more my heart feels softened, sane;
The Bible instills faith and trust,
And suppresses my worldly lust.’

‘Each word ingrained within my soul,
Has changed my attitude and role;
I feel so nearer to my God,
Avoiding sins, and their just rod.’

‘The Holy Bible betters me,
And guides me to eternity;
I am a sheep within His fold,
And graze in meadows where I’m told.’

‘I’m lucky to follow the Lord –
The Author of all things and Word;
My Shepherd loves and cares for me –
A pot of clay made specially! ’

‘I’m proud to have my Christian birth,
Awaiting after-life and mirth;
I thank my God for giving grace
To walk His road, and Him embrace! ’
