Your Ticket, Sir?

You usually make your calls
while you're not doing anything else,
and hope who it is you're calling
is doing nothing too.

If they aren't
you grow short and hang up,
or do something else yourself
and when you've hung up,
think what a lousy conversation it was,
or you can't remember it at all,
and you swear to lay down rules next call.
