Your Silence Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Your Silence

I hate your silence
I see it as heartless violence
and though you say it is a virtue
it feels it only hurts you
as much as it hurts me
and turns it's back on hearts
and leaves them both in misery
and diminishes what I mean to you
and what you mean to me
I hate your silence
and see it as heartless violence
as you safely sit behind your bulletproof glass
it shows only that you are heartless
and never had much class
silence may be a virtue
but it only hurts you
as all hopes and feelings of love pass
because silence protects the silent one
and safely hides their feeling
a cowards way of dealing
as all chance of love will soon pass
those silent in love are heartless people
and all their dreams will come and go
and never come to pass
because silence makes a mockery of love
silence is violence
You who hide behind silence
Never risk nor feel the beauty of love
You're void of emotion and all hope of love will silently pass
From this heart now broken
whose dreams of love were spoken
Hey silence! Kiss my A-!
I have no more time to waste on you
because life is for the daring
and not those dwelling on the past
life will be over soon enough
and moves by much too fast
no pain..no gain
as silence safely on the sidelines does remain
and of it all, only LOVE will last
Silence only leads to love in vain.
