Your Pathetic Fallacy Poem by EU STRESS

Your Pathetic Fallacy

Amidst the midnight saga of silence
My solitary virgin self
Sits contemplating
Upon your pathetic fallacy,
Questioning myself -
Why I could never use you
Nor him
Nor anyone else whatsoever
Even for a one night stand.

Closing my eyes
I discover my “I”
Split into two selves:

One - still standing in solitude
Precisely at the juncture
Where you left me in tears -
Confronting my past in ashes,
My present in flames,
And my future in smoking haze.
Trying to figure out
How and why
Despite your insight and foresight
You failed to decipher me.

And the other self -
Striding alone in tears of dismay
Upon the path we traced in harmony;
Trying to figure out
How far would my quest be meaningful
Even though my destination I reach
With no “You”
To share its magnificent bliss.
