Your Names Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

Your Names

Not all the stories
That I have heard
Will make me change my mind about you.
The wise man says
You have many names.
I can change your names
A thousand times
A million times,
Moving from one house to another.
But I cannot change you.
Names are like tags,
They only tell you of the make
It takes more than a tag
To know the thing itself.
I cannot change you.
Changing you
Is like trying to make the oceans sweet,
Or turning this dome of the sky
Upside down.
Whatever your names I love them.
Give them all to me,
I shall make a garland of them
And wear it till I die.
For I seek nothing more than to be able to sing
Your names night and day.

You are right, name do not count, the base stays. I had 9 names in my life, but I am in the process to change it again, because when we learn more and more our personality is changing. However not everybody should change the name unless they know what they are doing. And they are sure, that the name comes from God.
