Your Legacy Remains Poem by Emmanuel Odei Oduro

Your Legacy Remains

The light is gone
Yet his liberal legacy lingers
Repeatedly will it regally remain
Since the transforming might
Of this piercing light
Has left impact implicitly indelible
In the annals of our history

This extra-ordinary light is gone
But with it went, that darkness
That stirred its very start
Leaving in its wake superb bequest
Engraving a grand brand new order
An order unanimously untainted
The dream and cream of legacies

The light is gone
But its force forever flourishes
Obvious to all, intense in impact
For the legacy is priceless
The cornerstone of our concord
This accord in acute assortment
To you, we owe our unity

Your valuable legacy remains
Legacies bought with sacrifices, severe
Your supreme sacrifices
Sacrifices clearly classic
Sacrifices unique and immense

No wonder, your name will remain
Forever, engraved everywhere
In the hearts of all
On our way of living
On the surfaces of all
On the sand of time
Certainly glaring guarantees
Your legacy remains
