Your God Is Also Our Lord Poem by Hebert Logerie

There is only one God
It is a criminal fraud
It is a mortal sin
To kill. No heaven
For whoever kills strangers
Bystanders, friends
Brothers and sisters
Who offer hands
Of friendship with flowers
Happiness and goodwill.

In any religion:
“Thou shall not kill”
In every region
Let Peace and Love shine
Let’s build a shrine
To praise our Savior
Let’s be a martyr
Of love and peace
Not a terrorist
Who kills, destroys
With lethal toys
Deadly weapons
We are the sons
Of the same God
Let’s not turn out to be a fraud.

Our God is also your Lord
Do not use your lethal sword
To destroy your fellow men and women
Use words of praise and union
To celebrate life, love
As proof of respect
For the Almighty above
Who love and protect
All of us, you and me
Until infinity.
