Your Death Is Your Own Disaster Poem by Cassandra Hooper

Your Death Is Your Own Disaster

Destroy everything you touch
Death will take it from your hand
You destroy everything you love
Your soul has plagued the land
The apocolyse is your offspring in full
You raise it to murder the Earth
And so it shall be done
It is why it was given birth
You have no recollection
Of a time you may have been pure
And for the sickness of your mind
There will never be a cure
Your ignorance is costly
Its taken your life from you
But when it comes time to pay for your deeds
You must pay what is due
So when your sorrow overtakes your heart
And it so ceases to pound
They'll bury your body deep in the dirt
And plant roses in the ground
They who are forgotten
Are remembered only in the heart
But for what one must understand
Its nothing but a start
And though roses wilt
And sunshine may fade
Bones are always left behind
When the body has decayed
So when the memory dies too
And your spirit is sad and alone
No matter how dark the night
It always has a home
