Your Broken Eyes Poem by Chris Ivy

Your Broken Eyes

You all look at me with those broken eyes,
You say you like me but I know it’s a lie,
My life is an open book,
But no one can look,
You may love me,
But it can never be,
I can’t trust love,
For love is a dove,
Whenever I try to get close to the dove,
I only get shoved,
Your voices are all too loud,
Oh how they make you proud,
My hair falls in front of my eyes,
So I can hide from all the goodbyes,
All you do to me is look the same,
It’s enough to make me insane,
I have a darkness inside my heart,
To you it’s probably just a dart,
But you still look at me with those broken eyes,
And you say you like me, but it’s still a lie!
