Young Carlos Poem by Francis Duggan

Young Carlos

Young Carlos from Madrid we may not see again
The rumor is out he has gone home to Spain
He felt a bit homesick his English not good
And he struggled for to make himself understood.

With brown Spanish eyes and hair of dark brown
He is missed by the single young females of town
A handsome looking fellow he can turn on the charm
With many a young local beauty he walked arm and arm.

The lovely young Melinda for him dumped her boyfriend Ted
She confided to her friends Carlos was good in bed
Her heart aches for lost love since Carlos has gone
But that's life as some say and life must go on.

Young Carlos the Spaniard enjoyed fun and beer
But he felt quite homesick and was not happy here
He has gone home to Madrid so i have been told
Where he may father children grow settled and old.

He is missed by some local females especially one
Melinda the mother of his baby son
But she may never see young Carlos again
For the rumor is out he has gone home to Spain.
