You Will Not Die Poem by Paul Sebastian

You Will Not Die

Rating: 5.0

Death, the only thing certain
To a staged-life, a fallen curtain
This mortal coil, has no regression
But a chanced route for remission
With hope for salvation
And eternal-life admission

Unavoidable is the passing
Life began, life-end awaiting
Would there be regret and loss?
Would there be late remorse?
Life lived full, righteously swell
Is there after-life place to dwell?

Is there after-life righteous-living reward?
Is there hope for an honest steward?
If life passes merely into devoid darkness
Why, mere existence is then meaningless!
Why live a stretched life with no hope?
Why live in darkness and blindly grope?

Born into a short-life stay
Hurled into life's strive and sway
Like stormy wind, settling to still
Sir Death collects toll at his till
But born for a reason lasting life's season
Life Giver rewards His faithful's obedience
An abundant life here and after,
An ever-lasting life, forever
The One who'd conquered death
Had Himself left us an oath:
‘I am the resurrection
If anyone believes in me
even though he dies he will live
and whoever lives and believes in me
will never die.'

Alas! Life's struggle, we cope!
Heavenly reward, we can hope!

But born for a reason lasting life's season Life Giver rewards His faithful's obedience An abundant life here and after, An ever-lasting life, forever This is the hope that sustains us! Otherwise what meaning is there for this life of lesser joy and greater strife! Beautiful write with great religious insights on life and death!
