You’ve Taken My Innocence (Female Victim Version)

By Daniel Potts

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken you’ve taken my Innocence

I was Just a little girl
At the hands of my grandfather
No one knew what he did behind locked doors
When he would do unspeakable things
I confide in a teacher I thought I could trust
She stole what was left of my humanity
She stole what was left of my innocence
Yeah she’s taken my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken you’ve taken my Innocence

I thought I wouldn’t be accepted
I thought I wouldn’t be believed
That a boy who my parents trusted
Would Rape me
Oh but he did
I told no one out of fear
Then my father started doing things
That no one should do to a child
Yeah they stole my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken you’ve taken my Innocence

I strive to perfection
Hung with the good crowd
But no one knew what was hidden away
Locked so far away
The guilt
The shame
The fear
That someone will rape me again
Because they did when I was young
And innocent
Yeah they stole my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken you’ve taken my Innocence

I was quick to smile
I was quick to laugh
But it was short lived
I was raped by a boy I thought I liked
My world started to splinter
I tried to make me believe that it was a wonderful night
But who was I kidding
My life was rapidly unwinding
I was losing control o
He stole my innocence

You’ve taken my innocence
You’ve taken my pride
You’ve taken everything from me
Everything from me
You stepped on my dreams
You’ve taken you’ve taken my Innocence
