You Threw It All Away Poem by Alfred Ramos

You Threw It All Away

You had a life
Someone who loved you too much
But you threw it all away
You had every bit of heaven
Just waiting for your touch
But you threw it all away
Instead you chose to walk a tightrope
Not giving any slack so that we might cope
Giving up any chance there might be some hope
You had a life
And a dream ready to unfold
But you threw it all away
You had a heart in your hand
But you let it grow ice cold
And you threw it all away
You chose a path of constant sorrow
Too many excuses none left to borrow
Always living on the edge of tomorrow
You had the key to life
Destiny’s door was open wide
But you threw it all away
You had the map to happiness
But you chose a different stride
Then you threw it all away
In this sacred life we get few chances
If we are lucky a few slow dances
But mostly just fleeting glances
You had a life
Better than most can say
So why did you throw it all away?
