You Never Know About People Poem by Ron Kilgore

You Never Know About People

Have you ever seen a gentlewoman
Having sex with a man,
Flat on his back with a broken leg
In a cast, confined to bed,
Racked with pain and violently thrusting
And bucking like a brama bull,
Nostrils flairing, spittle flying,
To throw her off -
While she, balancing to stay connected,
Spurs that cast with her heel
And rides him like a cowboy?

Oh, gentlewoman, how could you?
