You, My Ocean

Ocean, you who never protest.
You are the heart of my body,
The wings of my bird.
You are the light of my sun,
The hands of my arms.
When you look at me
And I look at you,
There is a connection
That makes my soul relax.
You are the water
Of this beautiful magic world.
You are the rhythm,
Of that song we together sang.
You are my smile,
You are my laugh.
You are that memory
That will always be part of my mind.
My beautiful ocean,
You are the beautiful morning
That shall wake me up.
My beautiful ocean,
You are me,
And I will always be you.

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,
The dew-drops shine like fairy rain,
The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.
