You May Not Be A Celebrity Poem by Francis Duggan

You May Not Be A Celebrity

You may not be a celebrity but great credit you are due
That action speaks louder than words those words ring ever true
To live as a decent Human Being your very best you try
And when someone is in need of help to help them you are not shy
For you and others like you there is never a parade
But in the Human World you live in a difference for the better you have made
Your neighbourhood for you living in it is a much better place
Yet when you walk the main street of the town your's is an unknown face
For our heroes from our own street we do tend to look far
To celebrities National and International and aggressive men of war
When it comes to the corporal works of mercy he or she may be to the fore
But the quiet achievers of our street we do tend to ignore
For to honour you there will never be a parade in the town
But you are never shy to help the one who is feeling down.
