You Loved Me Sweetly Poem by Faith Elizabeth Brigham

You Loved Me Sweetly

Rating: 4.8

driving down the highway
in my new GX-350
i'm listening to
a roy orbison cd
and thinking of
you and how
you love me sweetly

wishing i could
turn back time and
be the person
that i was when
you showered me
with a love so strong
you loved me sweetly

when i passed
you on the road
and you waved to me
our eyes met
but only briefly
as you smiled so tenderly
it made me lonesome
for days gone by when, oh
you loved me sweetly

Faith, This is a very sweet and tender poem. The theme is universal. At least we can look back and remember and time diminishes the bad 'whys.' Fine poem. Hugh
