You Lay Your Hands... Poem by Annette Aitken

You Lay Your Hands...

Rating: 5.0

You Lay Your Hands

You lay your hands upon my head
calmly stroking every hair
uneasy expressions, purification.
my woes and fears melt to oblivion

You lay your hand upon my face
your fingers dry away my tears
a languish look to show you care
and harmony is on its way.

You lay your hand upon my neck
eliminating all my stress
a gentle touch so full of love
tranquil remedy, that I adore

You lay your hands upon my back
you wrap me in a warm embrace
full of warmth, my safety place
for in your hands, I'll always be.

where love and safety comfort me. ;)

it wouldn't be THOSE places that i'd be touching! either it is a long time since we touched base [ and i never got past first base with you ] OR i am getting old! ! or both? ? ? i could NOT think of your name at first. finally the Aitken popped into my teeny-weeny brain. and before i had a search-list to stare at, your first name made an appearance in my thick skull! ! all kidding aside, i like this poem, even without rhymes! favorite lines: ....my safety place for in your hands, I'll always be. where love and safety comfort me. ;) EVEN THOUGH it is too close to a love poem for MY TASTE, i'll send it to MyPoemList. bri ;)
