You Hold My Soul Poem by Amit Radha Krishna Nigam

You Hold My Soul

The Sky has changed to a different color now
It's not the same underneath which you blossomed
in front of my secretive eyes.

In summers, we boarded the trains together
sitting close beside, and every station
receeded with a short-lived perfectness.

Those that now collide on empty roads at city-afternoons.
And the deads, the elements of surprise you used to point
at every station grab my feet like socks to save them.
But I only stand and stare, shake off the burned.
And move away from those bodies one of them is always mine.
Your hold my soul in the emptiness of this world.

There were rooms where You and I have fooled the world
and laughed at our victory, while the world kept
it's promise around the Sun in days and around the moon
at night, not knowing that its being fooled.

The rooftops have fallen upside down of those luxury heavens
fouling the earth that has slowed down for the debris.

And my sadness have broken the routine of days and nights.
Unpassing, everlasting is their distance now, as I crave
with all the light of my iife and prayers, to be around you.

The Earth on this side of the sky where you aren't
is a horrible place to live. Time falls upon me
as inferno from the sky, crushing along with me,
the trees, cats, gardens, exhaunsting rivers and everything
that you used to hold my soul with.
