You Had Me (Imperfection) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

You Had Me (Imperfection)

Missed the clues when times would call for it
I guess I was too caught up in the moment
Under radar you really have gone undetected
I didn't know you were with someone other than me

No need for me to be stressing
thought of this for just a second
the bad will have you evaluate your needs
before things begin to move at rapid speed

Told me what you've been feeling
things that sound so appealing
Would've been better if you had meant it
Every lie told to me would be sugar coated
Never owning to your wrong dealings

when times were low we were solid still
some days looked like we wouldn't make it
love prevails through any disaster
And then you turned your back
soon as you were on your feet
Pain carried into action
And I would become blindsided
once i realized
you just weren't happy

Will not be broken
just cause the door has closing
Will be content and whatever
opportunity comes knocking
for a possible nominee
to win them self a trophy
Tragedy prepares you for blessings
