You Girl Please (Comfort Me) Poem by Colin Coplin

You Girl Please (Comfort Me)

Rating: 4.5

Moonlight pressed upon my pillow,
I woke up to find myself alone
I lay down and tried to sleep,
but I can't sleep, when I'm alone

Your ghost haunts these hallways,
It's cold embrace sucks at my gloom
Hurry back, my life is empty
2 full weeks crawled past room

You girl please, give me peace, I can't wait for your return
Yes, girl please, comfort me, I can't wait for your return

Outside the wind beats loudly
On an aging window pane
Six eight time, a waltz heartbeat
Seeing god in each drop of rain

Silent thunder, creaking floor boards
Caught and echo behind these frozen walls
The stroke of midnight starts a new day
Lonely darkness floods throughout these halls

You girl please, give me peace, I can't wait for your return
Yes, girl please, comfort me, I can't wait for your return

Lightning's lash rips the night sky
Window leaks, my reflection cries
Tormenting breeze blows through the curtain
What's this emptiness you left inside

Your ghost haunts the hallways,
It's cold embrace sucks at my heart
Hurry back, my life is empty
2 full weeks have now crawled past

You girl please, give me peace, I can't wait for your return
Yes, girl please, comfort me, I can't wait for your return
