You Forgot To Remember Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

You Forgot To Remember

Rating: 5.0

You smiled yesterday
When all we were to each other
Was new...
Now I reach for you and you
Only stare back at me with eyes
Cold as winter winds...
Love!
What happened to your laughter?
Where did you hide my lovers arms?
Conceal his kiss?
You smiled yesterday
When all we were to each other
Was new...
Now all has changed and
I am constant through revolving doors
Of memories.
Oh! Jealous heart!
We promised never!
But you forgot to remember.

D.A. Holmes: This is a very good work. Must add to my poem list. You do have some very good Haiku as well. Adeline

those smiles turn to deaf stones the kisses are simply glorified rocks yet chilled and free zed under the reminiscence time has forsaken to the shadow of archive and the butterfly has metamorphosed..................wonderful poetry, love when wistful by desire when assailed by its own roués and despair, well penned,10+, thanks for sharing

I like this one, the emotions of despair and desperation are very clear in so few words. -chuck
