You, By Me Poem by Debolina Chakrabarti

You, By Me

I had been walking this long tiring road for ages.
I met thousands of strangers with smiling faces.
But I waited patiently…
Waited patiently, - just to find them all mere look- alike.

At points I was mused by some for more time than the usual.
But only to realize that my search still was on.
At times I went against my own tide, and returned with no hopes or courage
-thinking my search itself was improbable.
Starting to believe which is not worth believing…
Accommodating a gutless compromise within- of accepting the unacceptable.

Then when I had almost given up, you came by! !
All lost hopes, and courage gathered back.
I learned to see things once again which I had stopped to see long back.
Somebody showed me my inner light, reconnected me with my inner self!

Your presence is a blessing- a constant place of harmony,
Heals for all wounds I wore in this long stride.

But you say, the walk is not yet over! -
You want me to be walking still…
This walk is all joy, as the roads are not dark, now.
Every difficult bends of it are now smoothed, and lighted with your presence! !
