You Ask Me Poem by NAYYAR SHABBIR AHMAD

You Ask Me

Rating: 5.0

You ask me whether
I still find solace in God
despite all the misery, trauma and helplessness
I suffer
and, see around me

I pause to think
my friend
I pause
I falter

I respect God
I respect his will
I have nothing against him
but, I have nothing further to say to him

Those most precious to me
have left this world forever
and, some others I care for
are about to follow, too

There‘s no hope
There’s nothing
My world has become totally
and irrevocably
dark and empty
