You Are Not Mine Stella Lou Poem by senka stanisevski

You Are Not Mine Stella Lou

Rating: 4.5

You are not mine Stella Lou
But I let your fingers through
Cause you you put a spell on me
And, someone's, anyone's, I want to be.
When we said ‘goodbye',
Me and Stella Lou,
Stella Lou and I
The fog came down on our town
with magnolias not yet in bloom,
Fishing boats at anchor
And vendors around.

You are not mine, sweet Stella Lou
I hope you'll forgive me
I'm not trying to find you
Your name may be Jacqueline or Charlotte
neighbourhood boys dream of you naked
and think you are hot
You carry a sad story upon your shoulders
And a mole on your lip
But, Stella Lou is a different species
Melted snow in February
A symbol of a living wonder
Postmortem adrenalin roaring like thunder.

She raised her hand and bent her head
to the left side of the bed
to reach her stocking…
as I devoured her like a dumb brute

I don't remember saying ‘goodbye'
Nor the last words for that matter
Was I waiting as a lone wolf
for the train to start
Or just turned on my heels to part?
Without a waving hand

I only remember the fog
that swathed our town
As a cloak for secrets

I emerged out of a sealand
And paid the debts for three lives to come
When my Stella Lou dispersed like sand.

If I am not hers
Anyone's I can be
Even yours if you want me
Sell me or leave me to the dogs
Crucify me, rape me gently
Destroy the evidence
Whatever makes sense.

Stella Lou is gone

Next week I will drop by the red house on Hollies street
Fishing boats at anchor and vendors to meet
(The Magnolias have bloomed late this year)
I'll look for you in room 303
It's where the best girls should be
Shall I find you there my honey bee?
Stella Lou, I want you
All I want is you, my Stella Lou
