You And I Poem by YAKUBU GIWA

You And I

Who are you?
Who am I?
We are both created by Allah
He created us from mere sand
He fashioned you and I from a mere sand
He made it become a flesh
And he made all parts of our body from it
Allah created us for a purpose
We rely on Him in all aspects
Of our lives
On Him we rely to answer our prayers
We demand for little
We were given many
We demand for many
We were given multiples
All by Him
He made us unequal in all ways
He made some leaders
And made some followers
This shows how mighty He is
He the king of the whole Universe
Appointed you and I as a mere king of a settlement
Then we felt superior and proud
Thinking the whole world lies in our hands
We’ve forgotten the day we would account for it
So we turned the world into a paradise for our selves
Thinking we would remain there forever
But He who appoint us will surely evict us
But we’ve totally forgotten
He who fashioned us out from sand
Has made the earth a market
And the soil a home for you and I
Now the time has come
For you and I to rethink
And turn a new leaf.
