Yesterday Poem by Timothy Long

Yesterday

The fact is my days were for yesterday,
The drive fades the more I age,
Life is miserable with no help,
Yesterday's theory might be its too late to start new,
Strive thrives on loneliness,
It can feel warm,
But never does it help one to feel free,
Limitations of the body can kill future success,
My rose never bothered to bloom,
This sinking ship fades away life's innocence,
Leaving me bitter like a fallen angel,
Yesterday was a series of small victories,
Today is an ocean of large defeats,
The less I believe,
Better of life seems to be,
Laugh to hide your pain,
Knowing nobody can save you,
Yesterday made me reflect too today,
Did I become what I always hated?
What a waste it all became,
My tears are words ready to be written,
Nothing in life seems beautiful or true,
It seems yesterday is just the blues!
