Yellow Brick Road Poem by Marilyn Lott

Yellow Brick Road

Rating: 3.5

I’ll bet that you remember a movie
About a Yellow Brick Road
Dorothy was the little girl
And Toto was her dog

A lonely little girl she was
Living with her Auntie Em
And when a twister came through
She was ‘really’ out on a limb

Her plans to run away took flight
Right on that fateful day
It led her to an unknown world
It’s kinda difficult to say

But suddenly she had friends
Oh, too many here to name
But happiness was apparent
Like in a childish game

There seemed to be some problems
They set out to seek the Wizard of Oz
For several needed help
They knew he would aid their cause

It’s a charming story for everyone
Set in a windy town in Kansas for you
If you enjoy rainbows and witches
You’ll enjoy this movie too!
