Writing poetry is like sex
Specially for us impotents
We get the rush without
The vexing toil of hand or body.

When we write we use the hand
in quite a different way,
from the other occupation;
- not so tough an avocation..

When our poem is complete,
We can go back and then repeat
The reading that we did before,
And get the pleasure, o’er and o’er.

And when another party reads it,
Then we have a couple more-
of readers who will fall in love
with the words.and not be bored

And then if we can add one more
we have not a quatrain
but a menage
a trois - of poem lovers.

And when we get a few more readers,
We’ll have an orgy taking place
between the covers of the book
in which the charming words are based.

And all of this without f_, c_, or s_-
You must admit I’ve done my best
to keep my poem on the list
of poems without nastiness.
