Wrong Desire Poem by Samantha DeWitt

Wrong Desire

I slammed the door tonight
Wondering what went wrong
Anger took hold of my sight
As my unbidden tears fell long
Tonight we said some things
We both knew weren't true
But my anger got the best of me
When out the door I flew

Arriving at my destination
I put the car in park
Still in contemplation
And deeply in need of a spark
I went in and sat down
To order some relief
Until I looking around
I truly held this belief

A glimpse of temptation
A masterful deception
Your sympathetic ear
A drink of my concoction
Made everything unclear
And then a subtle kiss
One we both knew, should've missed
