Would You Remember Me? Poem by Leaking Pen

Would You Remember Me?

232 Would You Remember Me?

Would you remember me?
As the sun sets gently behind the shady oak tree
Where we carved our names in full embrace
At the seat of eternity for passers-by
To imagine what bliss would be?
****
Would you remember me?
As autumn leaves fall to pieces
Under the shuffle of your feet
On the crumbling runway of our love?
****
Would you remember me?
As arctic winds blow across
The land of 10,000 frozen lakes
Erasing warm memories of my flesh
When you folded me in tender caress
And gently shelved me in the library of you Soul
Promising me starry nights to keep me safe?
****
Would you remember me?
When once we stood under a mossy bridge
From cold rain, you held me with a warm kiss
And took chills away from my trembling lips?
****
Would you remember me?
As the mirror of my youth
Dimmed with dark blindness
From jagged creases on my face
When yesterday I was
The Soul light of its reflection?
****
Would you remember me?
When I capped your leaky cup
With blushing ripe wine that filled your thirst
And whisked your emptiness away?
****
Would you remember me?
On slow lazy walks we did
In sweet summer surrender days
Where you held my hands to feel
The joining of our hearts
Now that we are continents apart?
****
Would you remember me?
I'm the spice that awakened your sleep
And drew you to my inextinguishable fire
That lit the puffed torch of your desire?
****
Would your remember me?
It is I who loved the spirit in you
While others only saw the backside of you
And mocked the trail behind you
And the path in front of you?
*****
Would you ever remember me?
As winter howls the greying of my landscape
Erasing warmth from my bones
To the stiffness of my brittle tones?
****
Would you remember me?
When you feed yourself
To the neglect arms of another
-Not the warm gills of my loins-
And left us both stranded
Lost in the dusty desert of destiny?
*****
Would you remember me?
As we sail towards sunset scenes
To this: In memoriam Poem
Etched with personal grief just for you
Where words of teary goodbyes
From the sadness of my cries?
*****
Would you remember me?
When I shared the only life I have with you
And have never held back
I gladly lay my Soul at under your feet?
*****
Would your remember me?
As nature falls prey to winter's grip
And you bid farewell to our courtship
In an unmarked graveyard slip?
****
Would your remember me?
When my heart stops breathing
And I am forgotten by life's stories
As letters of my name fade slowly
On the crumbling sand stone
Of my blemished un-kept epitaph?
****
Would your remember me?
Who will come to my gravesite?
And place a single Purple rose
To honour the loyal Soul in me
That carried the weight of your burden
That buried me alive before my prime
And crushed me to my final sleep!
