Would That I May Impede Poem by Dr.jawaz Jaffri

Would That I May Impede

It is time, a new city be inhabited
Where olives be planted at each house,
So that shadows may overshadow,
The city from all sides around,
And the enemy whom I have never seen
May not be the target of my bullets.

I intend too, to inhibit a world,
Before this one becomes fuel of war,
Where Death encamps all around
In pursuit of human race.
Would that I may save the crown of creation!
The world will fall at its own feet,
Would that I may impede humanity,
Wounding, injuring no one but itself!
