World War Me Poem by Megan Tucker

World War Me

Look what the cat dragged in—

I still remember what you did after all these years—

I still remember all that you said.

A few years without seeing your face,

this ghostly figure of yourself has changed as much as myself,

but I bet your still that ugly person that I know you are inside.

You gave me a reason to hate—

A reason to change—

I can’t ever forgive you,

theres still enough hate in me to feed this coward in the hero.

You taught me my rebel ways,

you showed me how I couldn’t ever trust you with what I said.

I still remember,

I won’t ever forget our war…

because I never gave in.

So little angel where’s your piece of heaven?

After all these years,

your looking like you’ve had it ruff—

and now it will only get worse as things start to fall back on you.

…You should have raised your white flag when you had the chance.
