Words & Thoughts On Pause Poem by Richard Provencher

Words & Thoughts On Pause

I am a voice
with meaning

as the storm approaches
lightning
noise like hooves
a thunder of

attention. I gather in
my nerves
afraid of the tomes that
invade my senses.

My wife calls to me
knowing is
knowledge and she does
have such notions.

I listen
aware of the
flickering TV
the agitation on my computer

fingers pause
a story line put on hold
and I close off

time for rest
the evening is growing cold
and I return to my nest.
